How do I add money through a bank transfer?

Depending on your country of residence, you will have a variety of options of bank transfers available unique to you.

Payment methods are subject to availability within your country of residence.
The only payment methods that Xapo currently offers in your jurisdiction will be those displayed in your account when you place an order with us.

There are two types of transfers:

  • Local bank transfers: These are processed through your bank by a payment processor. You complete your order by submitting your bank information.
  • Domestic and international wire transfers: These are processed through your bank with a wire transfer. You complete your order by sending this wire with your bank directly.

While each option may have different transaction limits/fees, processing times, and cancellation policies, you can add money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android or iPhone) or a web browser.

How to add money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android)

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.
  • Tap Add Money at the top of your screen.
Choose a method to add money.
  • Select Bank Transfer.
Choose a method to add money.

You will see a number of options depending on your country, as well as the currency supported by the payment processor.

  • Select your preferred option to continue.
Add Money
  • Enter the amount you would like to add.
  • Tap to confirm the transaction.
You must select an amount within the minimum and maximum transaction limit.
Review and confirm the transaction.

When reviewing your order, the system will automatically display a breakdown of the Total Cost showing:

  • Amount to add
  • Processing Fee
  • Total to deposit

Tap Confirm to finalize your transaction or Reject to go back.


How to add money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (iPhone)

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.
  • Tap Add Money at the top of your screen.

You will see a number of options depending on your country, as well as the currency supported by the payment processor.

  • Select your preferred option to continue.
Add Money
  • Enter the amount you would like to add.
  • Tap to confirm the transaction.

Log in to your Xapo account.
  • Click Add Money at the top-right corner of your screen.
Choose a method to add money.
  • Select Bank Transfer.
On the next screen, you will see a number of options depending on your country, as well as the currency supported by the payment processor.
  • Select your preferred option to continue.
Add Momney
  • Enter the amount you would like to add.
  • Click Go to Checkout to confirm the transaction.

Depending on your selected payment method, you will be prompted to make a payment through either:

  • a wire transfer;
  • a payment processor.

If you are prompted to make a payment through a payment processor, you will now find instructions on how to complete your order below.

Bank transfers with our partnered payment processors will be processed using your online bank credentials.

  • Enter the bank information requested, your name, and the email address registered with your Xapo account
  • Press Proceed and you’ll be directed to the website of the payment processor you’ve chosen to complete your order
  • Once you’ve been redirected, follow the final prompts provided by the payment processor's website.
