How do I add money through a credit card?

You can add money using a credit card, whether it be a Visa or a Mastercard. All credit card transactions are processed by our trusted partner, Simplex.

If you would like to view and compare transaction limits and fees, processing times, and cancellation policies, you can find this information in our help center or directly on your order screen within the Xapo app.

You can add money through a credit card using the Xapo app (Android or iPhone) or a web browser.

How to add money through a credit card using the Xapo app (Android)

1. Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Account tab.
  • Tap Add at the top of your screen.
  • On the next screen, select Card payment.

2. Enter the amount you would like to add.

  • Tap Next to continue.

3. Review your transaction details.

  • On the summary screen, you will see the following:
    • Amount to add to your account
    • Processing time
    • Processing fee (amount and %)
    • Total amount to pay
  • Tap Go to Checkout to proceed to your payment. Otherwise, tap Exit to My Money to cancel the transaction.

4. Proceed to your payment.

A. Xapo

  • If you are redirected straight to the checkout page, you can enter your credit card details and select Submit Payment to finalize your order. You can then exit this screen once the payment has been accepted.

B. Simplex

  • Otherwise, your credit card will be accepted by Simplex, at which point you'll be directed to their site. To proceed, select Accept and Continue.

Simplex payment

  • Enter your phone number billing address, and agree to the terms and conditions. All of this information must match the information as your Xapo account, especially the name.

1) An email will be sent. Open the email and press Verify.

2) An SMS will be sent to your phone with a 4-digit code. Verify it.

Once both items have been verified, you will be able to tap Continue.

  • Enter your name and card information. Tap Pay Now to finish.

Email confirmation

  • When you make a payment you will receive an email from Simplex as Payment Request Submitted.
  • When your order has been processed you will receive another email as Payment Request Approved/Denied.
  • Finally, if the payment is approved you will get another email to confirm the transaction: Please Confirm Order Reception.

If they do not accept it, you will have to contact either your bank or Simplex for additional support.

How to add money through a credit card using the Xapo app (iPhone)

1. Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Account tab.
  • Tap Add at the top of your screen.
  • On the next screen, select Card payment.

2. Enter the amount you would like to add.

  • Tap Next to continue.

3. Review your transaction details.

  • On the summary screen, you will see the following:
    • Amount to add to your account
    • Processing time

    • Total amount to pay
  • Tap Go to Checkout to proceed to your payment. Otherwise, tap Exit to My Money to cancel the transaction.

How to add money through a credit card using a web browser

2. Choose a method to add money.

  • Select Credit card to proceed.

3. Enter the amount you would like to add.

  • Click Next to continue.

4. Review your transaction details.

  • On the summary screen, you will see the following:
    • Amount to add
    • Processing time
    • Processing fee (amount and %)
    • Total amount to pay
  • Click Go to instructions to proceed to your payment. Otherwise, click Exit to My Money to cancel the transaction.
