How do I add money through a credit card?

When selecting the option to send money to your Xapo account via Credit Card, you will be directed to Simplex, a trusted payment processor that accepts credit card payments on behalf of Xapo.

Depending on your country of residence, the option of making a payment with Credit Card may not be available.


You can add money to your account through a credit card using the Xapo app (Android or iPhone) or a web browser.

How to add money through a credit card using the Xapo app (Android)

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.
  • Tap Add Money at the top of your screen.
Select a method to add money.
  • Select Credit Card.
Add Money.
  • Type the amount you would like to add.
  • To confirm tap
Review and Confirm the transaction.
  • Tap Confirm to finalize your transaction or Cancel to go back.
Complete your order.

When tapping Accept and Continue you will be directed to Simplex, a trusted payment processor that accepts credit card payments on behalf of Xapo.

If this is the first time that you use Simplex, you will be asked to verify your phone number and your email address.

Make sure to verify your registered email address and look in your spam folder for any emails from support@simplex.com.

Once your account has been verified, simplex will ask for your billing information.

Billing Info.
  • Enter your Personal Details and Billing Address.
  • Tap Continue.
Payment.
  • Enter your Payment Details.
  • Tap Pay Now to validate and complete your order.

We will reject the processing of your funds if you use a credit card that is NOT in your name.
So make sure that your card is under the same name as your Xapo account.

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.

  • Select Credit Card.

  • Type the amount you would like to add.

What Next?

All the steps followed at Simplex site are followed by an email confirmation.

Please note that you will be charged automatically in case your payment is approved during the transaction verification phase.

If the payment is not approved, this charge will automatically be voided in no more than 48 hours by Simplex.

Email confirmation

  • When you make a payment you will receive an email from Simplex as Payment Request Submitted.
  • When your order has been processed you will receive another email as Payment Request Approved/Denied.
  • Finally, if the payment is approved you will get another email to confirm the transaction: Please Confirm Order Reception.

If you don’t find this email, please check your spam folder as they could be there.


If your order keeps getting canceled, please remember Simplex is a separate payment processor and the ones who decide the acceptance of these. We encourage you to try a different Credit Card.

If they do not accept it, you will have to contact either your bank or Simplex for additional support.
