Once you're ready to retrieve your funds from the Vault, we begin an advanced security process to verify your identity. We then employ extensive authentication measures to ensure that you are the one who initiated the request. This will initiate a sequence of secure steps to get your requested bitcoins transferred from your Xapo Vault to your Xapo Wallet within 48 hours (on business days). 

During the transaction process, you can track the progress of your transfer in your transaction history.



Begin by logging in to your Xapo account at

Next, on your main dashboard, from your wallet list, click on the Vault button.



You will then be prompted to enter your Vault password. After entering your password you will be directed to your Xapo Vault.


1. On your Vault dashboard, click on the red button that says Retrieve.



2. You will then be prompted to input the amount of bitcoin that you would like to retrieve from your Vault to your Main Wallet.

The minimum amount you'll be able to retrieve from your Vault is 0.01 BTC.


3. Enter your password.



4, Authorize your retrieval request using your mobile phone.

Right after sending the request from your Xapo account, you’ll be notified of the following message.

Check your Xapo mobile App to authorize this transaction.





After the transaction request has been approved, we'll use multiple security layers to verify that you have authorized the request. This will initiate a sequence of secure steps to get your requested bitcoins transferred from your Vault to your Wallet. This multi-step process is designed to ensure that only authorized users can access your bitcoin vault.



A. You'll receive an email informing you that a request has been submitted to retrieve BTC from your vault.

In the email, click on Confirm Vault Retrieve.

This will take you through the multi-step confirmation process (requiring a confirmation via email and a confirmation via mobile app).





B. Click on Confirm the Transaction to confirm the transaction via email.



Once you have confirmed the transaction via email, the system will now update you on the progress of your transaction confirmation process and any missing step that requires your attention.

C. The second step is your confirmation via your mobile phone.

To do this, log into your Xapo account using Xapo mobile App, and on your pending transaction details, click on Confirm to confirm the transaction via mobile app.


Once the transaction has been confirmed, your funds will be available in your wallet within 48 business hours.


In the meantime, you can track the transfer's process (Status) in your transaction history.
