How to send bitcoin from your Xapo account to an external BTC address, step by step, using a web browser on your Mac or PC.

Log in to your Xapo account

  • enter your Bitcoin wallet.
  • In your main wallet, click Send at the top-right corner of the dashboard.

 Send Bitcoin

  • enter the recipient's bitcoin address you wish to send the funds (or email address if sending to another Xapo account)
  • enter the amount you would like to send.

 Select a payment priority

After validating the transaction, you'll need to select the payment priority for your transaction. You'll be able to choose between standard priority and high priority transaction fees to determine how quickly you want your transaction to be processed.

Bitcoin transactions must include a mining fee attached to them in order to ensure that they are successfully processed. This fee is paid to the bitcoin miners so that they are able to process transactions and secure the network.

 Transfer Confirmation

  • enter your password (not PIN!) to confirm the transaction.

On the Transaction Confirmation page, you'll be informed of the Total Cost (BTC amount to be deducted from your wallet including Miner's Fee BTC amount)

Approve transaction using Xapo mobile App

  • confirm this transaction in Xapo's mobile app.

When a transaction is initiated via the web browser version of your Xapo account, you will need to confirm and approve your request in our Xapo mobile App.
