How do I withdraw my money through a bank transfer?

You can withdraw money from your Xapo account directly into your local bank account using a bank transfer, allowing you to receive funds in your local currency.

This feature is not available for every country. If you don't see your country or bank under the recipient selection list, it means that it has not yet been enabled in our system. However, we are always working on adding more withdrawal methods to make available to all of our customers worldwide!

You can withdraw money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android or iPhone) or a web browser.

How to withdraw money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android)

1. Open the Xapo app and log into your account.

  • Select the My Money tab.
  • Tap Withdraw at the top of your screen.
  • On the next screen, select Transfer to bank account.

2. If this is your first time using this feature, tap 'Add Bank Account' to get started.

  • If you have already previously entered a bank account, proceed to Step 5.

3. Select who the bank account is under.

  • You can choose to withdraw into an account that is either owned by:
    • A) Myself: an account that is under your name.
    • B) Other: an account that is under someone else's name (i.e. family member, employer, etc.)

4. Enter your bank account details.

The information added must match exactly with the owner's bank account details. Once the details have been confirmed and the account added, it cannot be edited or deleted.
  • Select your country and search for your bank's name.
  • After the bank has been confirmed, you will be able to enter your bank account details.
  • If the home address you registered with Xapo matches the address associated with your bank account, toggle Use current address on. Otherwise, toggle it off to enter your address.
  • Once you've confirmed the details, tap Save bank account to continue.

5. Select the balance you would like to withdraw your funds from.

  • Next, select the bank account you would like to withdraw your funds to.
  • If you want to add a new bank account, select Add new account and go back to Step 3.

6. Enter the amount you would like to withdraw.

  • After entering the amount you wish to withdraw, a breakdown of the costs will appear on your screen:
    • Amount (or exchanged amount): This is how much will be sent to your bank account.
    • Processor fee: This is the additional cost charged by the processor.
    • To debit from account: This is the total amount that will be withdrawn from your balance.
  • Once you are ready, tap Confirm to proceed to the confirmation page.

7. Review your transaction details.

  • Once you are ready, tap Confirm to finalize your withdrawal.

8. Your transaction is now being processed.

As soon as the withdrawal has finished processing, you will receive a notification.

How to add money through a bitcoin transfer using the Xapo app (iPhone)

1. Open the Xapo app and log into your account.

  • Select the My Money tab.
  • Tap Withdraw at the top of your screen.
  • On the next screen, select Transfer to bank account.

2. If this is your first time using this feature, tap 'Add Bank Account' to get started.

  • If you have already previously entered a bank account, proceed to Step 5.

7. Review your transaction details.

  • Once you are ready, click Confirm to finalize your withdrawal.

8. Confirm your transaction on the Xapo app.

  • Transactions initiated on a web browser require approval on your mobile app. A notification will be sent to your phone to confirm the transaction.
  • For transactions involving a currency exchange, you have 40 seconds to approve this transaction before the rate expires and is automatically canceled. For all other transactions, you will have 5 minutes.
  • If you have not received the notification, you can click Send again.

9. Your transaction is now being processed.

As soon as the withdrawal has finished processing, you will receive a notification.
