How do I withdraw my money through a bank transfer?

Xapo allows you to withdraw money directly from your Xapo Wallet into your bank account using a bank transfer and receive funds in your local currency.

This feature is not available for every country. If you don't see your country or bank under the recipient selection list, it means that it has not yet been enabled in our system.

However, we are always working on adding more payment methods available to all of our customers worldwide!


You can can withdraw money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android or iPhone) or a web browser.

How to to withdraw money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (Android)

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.
  • Tap to open your menu options.
  • Select Transfer from your menu.
Select your transfer destination.
  • Select Bank Account to continue.
If this is your first time withdrawing using a bank transfer, tap Add Recipient to add a bank account.
  • If you have already previously entered a bank account, proceed to Step 6.
Select who the bank account is under.
  • You can choose to withdraw into an account that is either owned by:
    • A) Myself: an account that is under your name.
    • B) Other: an account in someone else's name (i.e. family member, employer, etc.)
Add the details of your bank account.

The information added must match exactly with the owner's bank account. Once the details have been confirmed and the account added, it cannot be edited or deleted.

A) Myself
  • Select your country and search for your bank's name
  • After the bank is confirmed, you will be able to enter your banking details
  • If the home address you registered with Xapo matches the address associated with your bank account, toggle Use current address on. Otherwise, toggle it off to proceed to enter the address.
  • Once you've confirmed the details, tap Confirm Recipient to continue.


  • Enter the address associated with your bank.
  • Once finished, tap Confirm Recipient to continue.

Select the Pocket you would like to withdraw from.
  • Next, select the bank account you would like to transfer your funds to.
  • If you want to add a new bank account, tap Add New Recipient and go back to Step 4.
Enter the amount you would like to withdraw.
  • After selecting the amount you wish to transfer, a breakdown of the costs will appear at the bottom of the screen:
    • Amount the amount that will be deposited into the receiving bank account.
    • Processing Fee the additional cost that will be added to your confirmed amount.
    • Transfer from [Pocket] the total amount that will be debited from your Pocket.
    • If you are withdrawing to an account that is of a different currency than your Pocket, you will also be able to see the converted amount and the exchange rate on this screen.
  • Once you are ready, tap Create Order to go to the confirmation page
Review and confirm the transaction.
  • Tap Confirm to finalize your transaction or Reject to go back.
  • Enter your 4-digit PIN to authorize and complete the transaction.
Your transaction is now being processed.
  • As soon as the order has finished processing, you will receive a notification.

How to withdraw money through a bank transfer using the Xapo app (iPhone)

Open the Xapo app and log in to your account.

  • Select the Wallet tab.
  • Tap to open your menu options.
  • Select Transfer to from your menu.
Select your transfer destination.
  • Select Bank Account to continue.
If this is your first time withdrawing using a bank transfer, tap Add Recipient to add a bank account.
  • If you have already previously entered a bank account, proceed to Step 6.
Select who the bank account is under.
  • You can choose to withdraw into an account that is either owned by:
    • A) Myself: an account that is under your name.
    • B) Other: an account in someone else's name (i.e. family member, employer, etc.)
Add the details of your bank account.

How to withdraw money through a bank transfer using a web browser.
Log in to your Xapo account.
  • Click Transfer to at the top of your screen.
Select Bank Account as your transfer destination.
  • If this is your first time withdrawing using a bank transfer, click Let's go! to add a bank account.
  • If you have already previously entered a bank account, proceed to Step 6.
Select who the bank account is under.
  • You can choose to withdraw into an account that is either owned by:
    • A) You: an account that is under your name.
    • B) Other: an account in someone else's name (i.e. family member, employer, etc.)
Add the details of your bank account.

The information added must match exactly with the owner's bank account. Once the details have been confirmed and the account added, it cannot be edited or deleted.

A) Myself

  • If the home address you registered with Xapo matches the address associated with your bank account, check the Use current address box on. Otherwise, uncheck it to proceed to enter the address.
  • Once you've confirmed the details, click Confirm Bank Account to continue.
Enter the address associated with the account.
  • Once finished, click Continue.

This step will be skipped if you selected Use current address in the previous step.

Select the Pocket you would like to withdraw from.
  • Next, select the bank account you would like to transfer your funds to.
  • If you want to add a new bank account, click + Add new bank account and go back to Step 3.
Enter the amount you would like to withdraw.
  • After selecting the amount you wish to transfer, a breakdown of the costs will appear at the bottom of the screen:
    • Processing Fee: the additional cost that will be added to your confirmed amount.
    • Total transferred from [Pocket]: the total amount that will be debited from your Pocket.
    • Deposit to [Bank]: the amount that will be deposited into the receiving bank account.
    • If you are withdrawing to an account that is of a different currency than your Pocket, you will also be able to see the current exchange rate on this screen.
  • Once you are ready, click Confirm Transfer to go to the confirmation page
Log into the Xapo app to authorized the transaction.
  • Open the Pocket you are making a transaction from.
Your transaction is now being processed.
  • As soon as the order has finished processing, you will receive a notification.
